Big News!!

Well, it is official. We are pregnant again. Dennis and I decided to go ahead and have another one soon so we can get all the family we want and concentrate on being parents rather then waiting and being pregnant again later. Plus we are both old (sad to say but yes).

So the other big shock is not only are we pregnant but an ultrasound perfomed yesterday on 8/21 confirmed we are having....TWINS!!! OMG I am still in shock!

I was in shock all day yesterday and still am today. I love telling people because the reaction is priceless - it usually goes something like this "OMG your having twins!!! OMG laugh laugh laugh".

We are excited and know it will be very challenging but that we have a great support system between family and friends that we will make it though.

August 17, 2008

It has been quite a while since I last wrote and posted pictures, so I will try to do a catch up post. Kyrah has not been doing too much different - oh don't get me wrong, she learns new things everyday, but no big milestones lately. She has been a jabber mouth this past week, babbling all day long. She will start talking when you ask her "Where is the puppy?" She will start looking around and start saying things, I have not noticed if she says the same babble when we ask that question, but I am trying to pay attention to that. Today, she did say "Da Da" and it was too Dennis, so maybe that is starting to stick. Typically it is just babble.

Here are some pictures of her showing off her new jammies. I really like these because they are a two piece and are very easy to get one. She doesn't like to sit still after bath for lotion and jammie time, so you have to find something quick and easy to put on.

Check out Daddy sneaking in a smooch.
She is also showing off her new toy. The pupose of this toy is for her to either ride it and move her feet or push it and practice walking - so far she just sits on the floor and plays with the different things on it …but I know one day it will get used like is should.

Her she is looking at Lupa. She loves Lupa and will just laugh when Lupa comes around. Poor Lupa takes Kyrah's "petting" which is more like slaps, sometimes it scares me and I think Lupa will bite her, but Lupa has never made one aggressive gesture towards Kyrah at all. She is a good puppie.

Next is Kyrah putting her jammies to good use. Babies are so sweet when they are sleeping...

Check out all the toys! In this picture you can only see two binkis but trust me there are probably 4-5 hidden in there somewhere. I just can't decide when to take the binki away - she just loves it so much. It will be a very sad week for her when we do decide to take it away.

Kyrah continued her fun weekend by playing in her new pool Grandma bought her. On Saturday, it was blazing hot so after a nap, there wasn't a whole lot we could do outside, but were tired of being indside, so we got out her pool knowing she loves water and figured she would enjoy this. Also we were trying to find something that would make her happy - she was kind of fussy today - not sure why - must have just been one of her off days. Well she ended up skinny dipping in the pool - hopefully she will only do this as baby and never again when she is older or Dad may have a heart attack! Here are her x-rated photos in the pool. By the way I can tell I am still a new mother because it is still weird for me to call Dennis Dad, when I write "Dad" I automatically think of my Dad - even after 8 months it is still weird to me, I am sure once Kyrah starts saying "Da Da" I will get used to it.

Look at those cute cheeks!

After the pool, I was actually able to put a little bow in her hair. Her hair is so soft and slick that bows don't stay in very well, and true to that statement, this one only made it for about 15 minutes.

We finished up the weekend by going to a church picnic on Sunday. While there, we saw Uncle Steve, Aunt Tami, Chloe and Elijah and Grandpa (who complains he never gets to see her). So she got to play with them a bit, and watched a tractor pull - okay only 2 tractors - it was hot and loud and though she liked the tractors there was no reason to stay for the entire thing. After the picnic we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house were everyone else eventually showed up as well. Grandpa got to hold her a bit as did Grandma, so that should make them happy for about a day. Don't worry - once Dennis starts softball practice with the High School Girls team (he is assistant coach) she will be going to the Grandparents house everyday and they will get lots of Kyrah time.

What a Fun Weekend!

Kyrah had a great weekend. It started on Friday when Kyrah and Mommy went to the zoo with Jodie, Ellie, Hannah and Aliana - 4 girls under 6 and on one of the hottest days possible, but the girls were all very good. Kyrah loved the zoo - she pretty much like anything that involves a stroller ride. She did very well all day and liked looking at the animals and being outside. She was able to get closest to the penguins. The first animal she saw was a brown bear and she watched it walk around its habitat, then we went to the new penguin house - check out Kyrah seeing her first real penguin..
This is Kyrah and Aliana looking at each other in the Living World - I think Kyrah is more excited then Aliana, but Kyrah really hasn't found any strangers yet, although she does have a preference for Mom and Dad
Here is the whole crew of girls minus Jodi, taking the picture. Yes those are giraffes behind us. All in all the girls were very good all day and each one had their own favorite part of the zoo.
Here is Kyrah looking at the American Aligator. Aliana sat on the ledge next to the python and got scared being so close, but she didn't mind looking at the snakes from the comfort of her stroller.
