A movie debut

A little video of Broden and Raya smiling - of course ignore my stupid talk. And yes Kyrah is walking around in her swimsuit eating.

A day at the zoo

Jodi and her daughter Alianna and Me and Kyrah went to the zoo. Alianna is my Goddaughter and Jodi is my really great friend from high school. Alianna is 2 - soon to be 3 and Kyrah of course is 1 soon to be 2. So the girls had a great time. Kyrah really enjoyed seeing the animals. She got so excited to see the zebras and giraffes. She also like the monkeys. She did not like the penguins. The penguin exhibit is amazing you get so close to them and they even splash you - that was the part she didn't like.

Kyrah and Alianna checking out the camels. Look at those two butts on the fense.

Kyrah did no like sitting on the carasoul. She liked the ride but I had to hold her the entire time. The pictures I have here were from the 15 seconds she sat on the seal.

Even though she didn't like the penguins, she did like the puffin exhibit which was right outside the penguins. It is so hard to get a smile from her when the camera is pointed in her direction. She can say cheese but refuses to. I think it is repressed trauma from all the pictures I take of her.

The day started out kind of scary. Kyrah ate trix and drank milk like usual, then we had to load in the van, I dropped the twins off, ran Broc into town then got to the gas station to meet Jodi. Just as we where waiting Kyrah throws up!! I was like where did that come from. She didnt' feel hot and wasn't acting funny so we proceeded with the trip thinking oh great we may get up there and just have to turn around. But she was fine the entire day. She was actually very good, hardly any whining, road in her stroller when she needed to - a huge success after a rough start. I can't wait to take her back. And because she was so good she got a stuffed sock monkey to take home.

chalk and water

What happens when you mix sidewalk chalk and water??? You get a paint type of mixture that gets everywhere as Kyrah can demonstrate in these photos...

Most of our evenings and weekend time are spent outside typically near a baby pool or sprinkler to try to cool off. Kyrah loves it and it keeps her entertained for a long time. After the chalk/paint mess I had to give Kyrah a bath in the middle of the day to get the stuff off. Her she is in her cute halter shirt with Lydia. Notice all the baby equipment in the background - yep not much space left for walking.

Kyrah is doing great. Her latest accomplishment is putting two words together. She says "want that". I don't think she has actually said "I want that" but sometimes it sounds like she puts the I in it. I am just happy she is getting to the phrase part. She is still wearing size 12month closes - esp pants, she can wear 18 month shirts, but they are a bit big. She just has not grown much in the past 6-7 months, at least not in size. Her looks have changed drastically. I looked at a 12 month photo of her as seen here

And now look at her at 19 months. Her hair is so much longer and she has that toddler look rather then the baby look. Such a change!

I am working on my 4th of July holiday cards. Here is a sneak peak of the twins photo. So cute!

I had two different outfits for them for the 4th. The one pictured above with the stars and just red and white out fits as below. I like the stars better but this was probably picture 50. I started out with them in the red and white so they were smiling at the beginning, by photo 50 the smiles were pretty hard to come by.
And a little extra cuteness from Broden. It is official now. They both laugh out loud. It is super adorable. I will have to have Christie teach me how to put video on the blog.

Broden went to the doctor today. He has been struggling with this bad cough for the past week. He coughs so hard he throws up his food. So the doc said it was just a cold, but he will be on amoxicillan to help. But at the appointment he weighed in at 13 lbs and 23 inches. So that means Raya is probaby 15 to 16 lbs. I just can't believe how fast they grow. He still is in 0-3 month clothes but they are starting to get a bit small. Raya has been in 3-6 since the day she turned 3 months and probably should have moved up before that.
I actually dressed them alike this weekend. This is the first time they had on the same outfit. Usually they just cooridnate with matching outfits. But the onsie is gender neutral so it worked out well.

Week of June 12-17

Last night Kyrah played in the sprinkler and she played in her pool for the first time this summer. It was 93 degrees yesterday so the water felt great. She loves the sprinkler. We did a lot of watering the flowers and herself. She has a small watering can that she would fill up in from the pool then walk around and water things. She was super cute when she tried to drink from the sprinkler but the water would get in her face and she couldn't get a drink.

Sitting in the pool cooling off...

Kyrah also had to doggie sit Lucky, Aunt Connie's dog. She loves animals and fed Lucky all his treats the first night he was over. Then she went to his dog bowl and picked up the small dog pellets and tried to feed Lucky those. She just could not understand why Lucky would eat the treats but not the dog food.Last weekend the twins had their first trip out of state. We went to Jackson, TN for Broc's baseball tourney. This was Kyrah's frist trip out of state when she went last year, so this year, it is her second trip to Jackson, TN. Broc's team won 1st place which is the third year in a row of winning 1st!

We bought this cool pop up umbrella that is super huge for the twins and Kyrah to play under. It was super hot on Saturday so it came in very handy. Kyrah didn't do much sitting - she is a busy girl always on the go walking around. The twins however, were a center attaction. Briley and Braylyn loved holding them.

Raya and Broden can now sit in the double stroller without their carseats but the seats have to be fully reclined. They still can't sit up on their own without falling to the side or forward and we are not even close to rolling anywhere, but it will come in time. Raya looks so squished here. Her cheeks are super pudgy which makes them extra kissable.

This was an odd time that Broden did not like going on a buggy ride. Usually, he loves riding in the stroller. I think he was hungry at this paticular moment.

This is where Kyrah sits in the morning while I am getting ready. She plays with my make up or whatever random thing is on the counter like that flashlight. I have no idea what that is doing in the bathroom. Although I have learned that little toddlers like to pick random things up and they end up in the weirderst places so it doesn't surprise me.

I was trying to capture Raya and Broden's smile the other morning when they were hanging out on my bed, but I had a bad angle on the camera, still cute pics though. Oh and I am very happy to report that Raya has finally adjusted to daycare. No more crying all afternoon which is such a relief for me. I hated knowing she was so unhappy. Now she takes her normal naps

Summertime Fun

On Monday while Broden was sleeping in the swing and I was carring Raya around outside. I told Dennis to help Kyrah water the flowers and you can guess what happened next...

Then it became a game. She would start out of the reach of the water, run into the water sprinkles then run back...

Broden and Raya hanging out holding onto their blankies.

Daddy and Broden taking a morning nap this past weekend.

This picture was a few weeks ago. Daddy was taking off her jammies and it got stuck on her head and she thought it was the funniest thing to run around with her jammie top like a hat. Check out that farmer's tan she is getting.

A Day in the Life

We are starting to figure out our routine now that I am back at work. So one a day that I work it goes a little something like this. 5:30 Broden wakes up (fyi the last two nights he has slept through the night!!!). Dennis usually gets up and feeds him or whoever is the first to wak up. 6:00am Kyrah wakes up and knocks her pacifier on the crib rail to let us know to come get her. She gets lifted out of the crib and immediately goes to her corner where her snacks and cereal are located. She gets a small bowl of dry cereal and takes it to the living room where she plays around and eats. I then do a very quick 15 minute get ready for work session as I have taken my shower the night before so it is pretty easy to fix my hair and through on the minamal amount of makeup. Broden has finished eating and hangs out in the bouncer or swing. Dennis leave for work at 6:20. I wake up Raya no later then 6:30 if she has not gotten up on her own. She gets changed and a bottle which takes about 15 minutes. Then at 6:45 or so Kyrah gets changed (which is a fight to get her to lay down to change her diaper and clothes!) and her hair gets fixed. I still have not cut her hair so it has to go up in a pony or barrett every day. I then take my stuff out to the car. Come back in load the twins in their car seats. I take one baby and Kyrah out to the car. Load the baby and let Kyrah either sit in the front seat or walk around in the driveway and go back in to get baby #2 and shut the door. By 7:00 am, we drive around the corner and I run Kyrah inside to her daycare. Her drop off used to be 5-10 minutes of BSing with Lori the owner now it is "here's the kid c-ya" try to give Kyrah a kiss and back to the car I run. I then drive .5 miles to the twins daycare called Wee World. I take them in at the same time in their car seats for now, but they are getting heavy so not sure how long I can keep that up. I take them to their room and talk to the teacher there tell her when they should eat next, give them kisses and back out the door. I try to be on the road to work by 7:15. It actually works out rather well becuase they wake up so early.
At 4:15 pm Dennis starts the pick up route. He gets the twins first then on his way home stops by and picks up Kyrah. So he has the three kids from 4:30 to 5:45 when I get home. During this time he is just playing defence - feeding anyone that needs it. Kyrah eats at 5:15 to 5:30 so if the babies are content he can help her and feed her something more complicated (spegetti or something that requires his help) if the babies need something Kyrah gets cut up lunch meat, cheese and grapes - or something similar that is finger food that she can feed herself. She is actually pretty good with a fork, but it is just easier to give her finger food.
When I get home I just start with whoever needs something. Usually it is one of the babies needing fed. Then it is play time - which consists of anything outside for Kyrah. A lot of the time we will take the twins for a stroller ride and Kyrah will either get a stroller ride or a bike ride. 6:45pm starts bath time. Kyrah is first. She plays in the tub for a bit then gets her jammies on. She gets a cup of milk and a small snack and walks around or sits on the couch eating. If we are luckily enough to have one of the twins sleeping then one person can read to Kyrah or hold her and the other is giving a baby a bath. Kyrah goes to sleep at 7:15. We ask her if she wants to go to bed and the answer is always no, but when we take her in anyway she is fine with it. Hopefully by that point baby 1 has had a bath and is finishing up a bottle. We always make sure they get a bottle before bed even if they are not due to eat. Sometimes it is just topping them off with a few ounces, but I think it helps them sleep through the night. Baby 1 gets swaddled and held for just a bit. We are starting to put them down when they are awake now hoping it will teach them to sooth themselves to sleep. For the most part that has worked. By the time baby 1 is put in bed baby 2 should be finishing up the bottle and close to being put down as well. Ideally all 3 kids are in bed by 7:30 to 7:45. This is a best case description of a day in the life or at least what we strive for. Some days are better then others but you do your best and go from there. Here are all our angels sleeping:

They all look so peaceful.

And just some cute photos of Raya and Broden playing on the floor.
Every now and then Broden will enjoy his tummy time so much he just falls asleep during it. This is good and bad. He doesn't mind tummy time so he doesn't really push up like Raya does so he is not getting as strong as she is.
We have also just introduced the jump-a-roo. They are still a little wobbly so they don't spend too much time in there, but both of them like sitting up so it is a way to do it without having to hold them.

By the way it is nice to be back at work so I can blogg more often again :-)

Monkey See Monkey Do

Sorry no pictures this post, but Kyrah has been doing the cutest stuff lately. She is trying to mimic everything we do. Tonight Dennis was trying to get her to tippy toe down the hall and she couldn't get up on her toes but was taking bigger steps then normal - like high knees. Dennis was also doing something stupid like putting his arms out like a surfer and she could not put her arms out parrallel to the ground but raised them up straight. She also tries to blow a whistle but rather then blow air through the whistle she makes a squeek noise herself.

During her bedtime routine she gets a cup of milk and a small snack - like grapes or cereal. Dennis was telling Kyrah to tell the grape bye bye and popped it in his mouth. Well of course little monkey see monkey do had to tell her grape bye bye before it popped in her mouth. She is just so cute!!

London Bridges

One of Kyrah's favorite games is playing our version of London Bridges. She runs under Daddy's legs. She will go under mine as well, but she just fits perfect under Daddy's legs, I have to lift my leg for her to run under. Here we are at Brett's graduation party. Brett is Dennis' 2nd cousin but in Dennis speak he is like a nephew.

Kyrah loves her Daddy!
She has been a lot of fun at this age. She is saying more words like nose and kitty cat. She is so sweet with the twins. When one of the babies is laying on the floor or in the bouncer she will lay her head down on them and try to give them hugs, or she will kiss their heads. She is also very concerned when they cry and tries to put the pacifier in their mouth and she gets it in most of the time, but she tries to shove it in which is a little rough for the twins. When she hears them cry or talk she has to go see what they are doing. Lately she has also wanted to hold the babies and will sit on the floor and clap her hands and hold them out for me to put a baby in her hands. Then when I do she squeezes them like she can't get close enough to them.
Kyrah is loving summer. She likes wearing shorts and walking around outside barefoot, although she doesn't run in the grass much, stays on the driveway mainly.
Here is Broden getting his diaper changed with his lovey next to him. Also wearing the cutie outfit from Fie -thank you very much Fie!

And Miss Raya looking up at Mommy while playing on the floor.

Raya and Broden are both doing very well. They sleep through the night most nights. Last night he woke up at 12:30 then at 7 am. Raya slept from 8 pm to 6 am. Raya is still at 5 ounces and Broden is at 4 to 4.5 ounces. They like to lay on the floor and play and both of them will stay on tummy time for a good 10 minutes before they get upset. Broden is such a smiler and Raya is catching on to that too. They both like to grab on to blankets or shirts now.
Yesterday June 1st I had my first day back at work. I am working Monday, Wednesday and Thursday for June and July, then intend to go back full time in August, but we will see how that goes. They got a good report from day-care, but it doesn't look like they slept much, or at least not a very long nap at a time. I am sure they need time to adjust to the new enviroment and noises. The baby room and 1 year old room are joining with only a little bar type divider so it gets lound.
