St. Agnes Picnic

Last night Kyrah spent the night at Aunt Tina's house. This was the second time she has spent the night away. The first time was when the twins were born and she stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's house for 3 nights. The twins stayed home and two neighborhood girls came over to watch then while Dennis and I went to the first pre-season Rams game. It was nice going out, but expense. Babysitters are costly. I paid them each $25. I had two girls come over since they were younger - 7th graders. When Amanda babysits it is just her, but she is older and can handle both babies at once. I really don't like not having Kyrah here at night and when I wake up. It was the first morning in a long time that I didn't wake up to "Maaa Ma" coming from her room at 6 am.

The day went pretty normal except that Kyrah has been beyond crabby lately. She went to the doctor on Monday and was diagonosed with Broconitis so she has been on steriods and breathing treatments. I think the combination of these two things and getting over the sickness has made her awful to be around. She just doesn't know what she wants and when you offer her everything in sight she just cries, yells no and bats her hand at you. She finally took the last of the medicine so I am hoping she will get back to normal soon.

While Kyrah and Broden were sleeping, I got a chance to take pictures of cutie Raya in her peas and carrots outfit (formerly Kyrah's outfit).

This afternoon after a 3 hour nap for Kyrah we went to the St. Agnes picnic. They had washers and sports for the kids and a corn pile for the little toddlers. This is Kyrah and her best friend (her BFF) Olivia who goes to daycare with her. Olivia just turned two in June.
The twins were a big eye turner in their double wide storller. They spent the entire time hanging out in the stroller and loved it.

Kyrah did not want to go down the hay slide. This is one of cryings/ crabby fits.

Happy 5 months Old

On August 8th the twins turnd 5 months old. I can't even believe it has been 5 months. They are growing well. Broden went to the doctor last week and was 15 lbs 1 oz. Raya is probably around 18 lbs. They had a few big milestones this month. Broden started eating cereal and veggies in the evening. He has only tried squash so far, but seems to like it. Raya is trying to eat cereal. She still has her tongue reflex so she pushes the cereal and spoon out of her mouth. She just may not be ready yet so I am not pushing it too hard. Every evening I will try giving her cereal but if she doesn't take it I just let her have the bottle. Another big milestone is that both Raya and Broden are rolling over. They roll from back to belly. Neither one has rolled from belly to back which is funny since that is the easier way to go. A little picture of handsome Buddy. That is his nickname and what Kyrah calls him.

They are both very happy babies with smiles all the time. They both like to be lifted in the air like they are doing a superman. So they seem to be getting a few things similar. A little picture of Raya and her pink cheeks.
Raya is in 6-9 month clothes and even some of them are hard to get snapped around her legs. Broden is just now out of 0-3 month clothes. He was still wearing 0-3 if they didn't have feet in them. So he is officially in 3-6 month clothes now.

A little play time on the floor. They both like the exersaucer. We have moved away from the bouncer seats. We still have one out just to use as a place to put them when we need to get something done. They both love Baby Einstein videos.
They each have one of these toys and like it a lot. They are really good about grabbing toys and seem to like things that rattle.

This picture cracks me up. I can just seem them on a TV interview. "So there we was covering a hole in the bottom of the trailer with chicken wire so varments can't get in and keep me up all night. When all of a sudden I sees a big funnel cloud over the hill and I tells Raya we better get our britches off the clothes line 'for that storm plum carries them away."

Rolling Raya

Raya is not far behind Broden. She rolled over on Sunday August 9th - just 4 days after Broden rolled over. Yeah for the twins.

Rock and Roll

A big milestone for Broden. He rolled over from back to belly. He has not rolled over from belly to back yet, but I am sure that is not far off. He did it 4-5 times tonight. Check out the video.

Also check out Kyrah singing with Daddy. She sings the "woo-ohh" part.

Raya Motor Boating

This video cracks me up. Raya has been 'razzing'. She will get in this mood where she will lick her lips then start razzng her lips - it is so funny and cute at the same time. Also quick update on motor skills. Broden is so close to rolling over - he rolls to his sides but just doesn't make the flip. Raya is just now rolling to her side but doesn't do it that often. Both of them are becoming very aware of their toys and the things around them. Both of them had time in the exersaucer and I noticed each one looking at the toys on the saucer. Broden even tried to spin a roller that made noise. Daycare thinks they are both teething because they are drooling a lot, sucking on their fingers and have been cranky, but I am not so sure. Kyrah has really been developing her speech lately saying tons of things like "Where go", "want that"and naming animals - Monkey and elephant. Her motor skills are great too - she has learned to hop and just barely gets air time, but her feet now leave the ground. She has also become a little climber and likes to jump off of steps or will stand on me or Daddy when we are laying on the floor and jump off of us.

Raya Update

Thankfully, Raya's fever finally broke on Thursday. After six days of fever I finally got my smiling laughing Raya back.

Rain Rain Go Away ...

No way! Kyrah loves the rain. Saturday afternoon while Daddy was playing in the co-ed softball tourney, Kyrah spent the entire hour it was raining running around and loving it. The rain was everything from a sprinkle to a downpour (without lightening of course). Her cousins Lydia and Nick were over playing and they were supposed to just watch the rain on the front porch but of course that didn't last long. Kyrah would scream and run around Tina's car and splash in the puddles. She was having a ball.
